About Us

We are thankful that the Lord has directed you to our church website and we hope that you will be able to get to know a little about who we are as Amelia Bapitst - our vision, beliefs, leadership, ministries, and mission partnerships.  And if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the church office.

The Gospel

The gospel (good news) is the very bedrock of why we are a local church.  It is by our wholehearted trust in Jesus' perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection that we are forgiven of our sin, welcomed into the family of God, and are given eternal life.  This gospel is the very thing that has unified us a local body of believers here in the heart of Amelia, VA and it has sustained us since our founding in 1914.  The gospel means everything to us and we want it to mean everything to you as well.

Our Vision & Mission

In our pursuit to be a church that reflects the biblical teachings of the New Testament, ABC simply exists to glorify God by being faithful to the task of making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.  And we believe that this is primarily done through....

  • Gathering Together Around the Word
    • John 17:20-23, Acts 2:42-47, Eph.4:1-6, Heb.10:24-25
    • The Word of Christ (gospel) unites us in love as the family of God
  • Growing Together In the Word
    • John 15:1-5;17:17-18, Eph.3:14-19, Col.2:6-7, Heb.6:1-2, 1 Peter 1:22-2:3
    • The Word of Christ (gospel) deepens our love for God and for one another
  • Going Together With the Word
    • Matt.28:16-20, Acts 1:8, Rom.10:14-17
    • The Word of Christ (gospel) calls us to go and proclaim good news to a world darkened by sin
